Message Current is proportional to surface area. Higher surface area with the same size/capacity battery generally means thinner plates, so easier to damage with discharge.

But you could just increase the size of the battery with the same thickness plates (just wider/taller or more of them), and get more CA/CCA with the same discharge properties. Like swapping your 35 series for a 24f, which is what I did.
